Training on rare metals exploration underway

Habsiguda: Ch Venkateswara Rao, Deputy Director General, Geological Survey of India Training Institute (GSITI), inaugurated a training programme on exploration of Rare Earth Elements and Rare Metals, at GSITI here on Friday.
The objective of the training is to impart training in latest techniques for mineral exploration, which is crucial for the country’s development. Field traverses in locations in where Rare Earth Elements and Metals are likely to be found in South India, will be organised as part of the training. About 31 officers from GSI, NGRI, Directorate of Mines & Geology and Mineral Exploration Cooperation Limited (MECL) are participating in the training programme.
