Congress hunger strike for Bayyaram Steel Plant from today

Yellandu (Kothagudem): The Congress party MLA from Yellandu, Banothu Haripriya,  is going to launch a 36-hour hunger strike seeking Bayyaram Steel plant from Wednesday. Addressing the newspersons here on Tuesday, the MLA said that the hunger strike would be launched at Bayyaram with the help of party supporters and workers.  

Stating that the Central government was neglecting to set up the plant, she said it was shame on the State and Central governments which have been neglecting the plant violating the State Bifurcation Act, and demanded the Central government to announce the project on last day of the ongoing Parliament session.

“Various surveys have been conducted in the last few years for the setting up of project. However, nothing has been done limiting the project only to surveys,” Haripriya said, informing that Congress party MLAs and leaders will also take part in the strike. Meanwhile, over 50 Sarpanches in the have extended their supported to the proposed strike.
