RMPs asked not to perform surgeries
Vikarabad: District Collector Syed Umar Jaleel said that RMP doctors should confine to the emergency medical services in rural areas only. RMPs should not conduct surgeries like qualified doctors, he warned. Speaking at a review meeting with RMPs on Tuesday, the Collector said that RMPs should not run clinics and hospitals but can organise first-aid centers.
He enquired them about the treatments they are providing. He warned them not to perform treatments which they are not authorised to do. He directed the District Health and Medical Officer, Dasharath, to keep an eye on the activities of RMPs in the four constituencies in the district. Local MLA, who is also a medical doctor, said RMPs should not maintain medical shops. He also advised them not to administer high dosage of steroids.
