Hyderabad gets green footpaths

Madhapur: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) continues its efforts to promote recycling. Footpaths made out of a recycled plastic tiles has been laid in   three areas of west zone here on Tuesday. More footpaths made out of recycle plastic are coming up across the city.
  
GHMC west zone Commissioner Hari Chandana Dasari speaking to The Hans India said, “Footpaths have been laid at high tension line road, Ayyappa Society and Silicon Valley in Madhapur. We have also installed twin bins made out of recycled plastic, each twin bin recycles about 25 kg of plastic waste.  However, footpaths for around four roads of three km each are being laid with recycled items in the city. 

She further stated that the idea of laying footpaths with recycled items came from Bamboo House India, A dog bone design tile made by plastic weighs around 300 gms and is in blue and green colour. This is being done to make Hyderabad a sustainable city.
