City to host Int l Spice Conference
Hyderabad: In a world where food safety standards are constantly changing and the industrial environment is constantly evolving, addressing the concerns and imbalances of the industry by the stakeholders is not a choice but an imperative. In addition, ensuring the sustainability of the crops and improving the livelihood of the farmers also becomes a collective responsibility.
It is in this context that the All India Spices Exporters Forum came up with the International Spice Conference to provide a platform for all stake holders of the industry including the business houses, the spice associations, the policy makers, the farmers and the end users, to address and interact.
The fourth edition is planned in the CITY OF PEARLS, the silicon valley of India, Hyderabad; the capital of Telangana, India. The theme for the conference is ‘Challenges of Change, Redefining the Value Chain’. There are significant challenges the industry foresees from changing consumer needs and the way digital advancements are transforming business, distribution and how governments enforce these changes. The intent is to look at these changes and challenges and see how the industry can adapt its value chain to survive and flourish.
The conference will start on a Monday, January 28, with an inaugural session followed by a welcome dinner. The second day will have sessions unravelling the different facets of the conference theme ‘Challenges of Change in Global Spice Industry’. The third day of the conference will have session on the topic ‘Redefining the Value Chain’.
The fourth day, which is the final day of the conference will have audio visual presentations on ‘crops and market’. All the sessions will be handled by renowned resource persons from the industry. The conference will also offer optional side trips like business tours to spice growing areas and sightseeing trip to the marvels of Hyderabad.
