Hyderabad: As Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is all set to undertake 5-day yagam from Monday onwards, Telangana state government is bracing for smooth conduct of the administration in the absence of the CM.

Since the Chief Minister is yet to constitute a full cabinet, Chief Secretary SK Joshi has been entrusted to look after the administrative matters in coordination with the Chief Minister Office. DGP M Mahendar Reddy was asked to keep a close vigil on law and order situation in the state. Since KCR’s cabinet has only a Home Minister (Mohd Mahmood Ali), the state top brass in the administration has been geared up to look after the state affairs.

The 5-day ‘Maharudra Sahitha Sahasra Chandiyagam’ organised at KCR’s farm house in Erravelli village will be attended by some important personalities from across the country. It may be mentioned here that KCR conducted a 5-day Ayutha Chandi Yagam in December 2015 to fulfil his vow to perform the yagam on the formation of Telangana. Several important political leaders and dignitaries from various fields also attended. People were also allowed to witness the yagam.

Sources said that KCR will stay at his farm house for five days. Only a few important officials will be allowed to meet him in case of any emergency. Before leaving for the yagam venue on Sunday, the chief minister will hold a meeting with the top officials and clear the pending files.

As many as 200 Ritwiks will take part in the conduct of the yagam. Sringeripeetham Pandits Shashanka Sharma and Gopi Krishna were entrusted with the responsibility of making all necessary arrangements under the instructions of Sringeri Peetham head Bharati Teertha and Sharada Peethadipathi Swaroopanandendra Swami.
