TS CS reviews preparations for Republic Day fete

Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Dr SK Joshi on Wednesday directed officials to make all arrangements for the Republic Day celebrations at Secunderabad Parade Grounds on January 26. Addressing a review meeting held at the Secretariat on Wednesday, the Chief Secretary said that Governor ESL Narasimhan would be the chief guest at the event.  Joshi wanted proper security at the parade grounds with police personnel and traffic regulation on the route and the GHMC officials ensure cleanliness. 

“Illuminate all the historic monuments and buildings including Raj Bhavan, Assembly, Charminar and offices,” he asked the officials and also instructed the Metro Water Works to arrange drinking water, special transportation with buses to shift school-children who are participating in the Republic Day celebrations. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will pay respects at the Amar Veerula martyrs memorial near the Assembly, he added. 

Those who attended the meeting include GAD Principal Secretary Aadaar Sinha, Roads and Building Principal Secretary Sunil Sharma, GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore, Wing Commander, College of Air Force Srinivas, Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, Additional DG Jithender, MK Singh, Fire Services Director General Gopi Krishna, Hyderabad Collector Raghunandan Rao, Protocol Director Arvinder Singh, TSSPDCL CMD Raghuma Reddy and others.
