Review meet on International Sweets & Kites Festivals held in Begumpet

Begumpet: A high-level meeting was held here at Paryatak Bhavan on Thursday by tourism and culture department secretary Burra Venkatesham to review arrangements related to the implementation of International Sweets Festival, along with International Kites Festival, to be held from January 13 to 15 at Parade Grounds.

Both the festivals, organized by Telangana Tourism and Culture department, received a huge response from people last year. About 8 lakh people, including visitors from various states, visited Parade grounds last year. About a thousand different types of sweets were demonstrated at the festival. Speaking on the occasion, Venkatesham said that the representatives of 20 countries evinced interest to open their stalls at the festival this year. It is estimated that about 10-lakh people from the twin cities as well as representatives of various language, cultural associations, are expected to participate in the festival, he said.

Tourism development organization chairman Bhoopathi Reddy, managing director Manohar, coordinator of Telangana Language and Culture Department Mamidi Harikrishna, Nitham Director Dr Chinnam Reddy, officials of Telangana Tourism Mahesh, Shashidhar and representatives of various state associations participated in the review meeting.
