HMDA to build logistics parks on a war-footing in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metro Development Authority (HMDA) has taken up the construction of logistics parks under public private partnership (PPP) mode to fulfil the future needs of the city. The parks will be equipped with rest rooms and parking for truck drivers. The parking places will be able to accommodate up to 500 trucks.Warehouses will be built in an area of about 2lakh sqft. A logistic park is coming up in a 40-acre site with an investment of Rs 35 crore. The site is located about 7 km from Hyderabad-Vijayawada Highway. A cold storage with 10,000 metric tonne capacity will be constructed here.Automobile service centres, restaurants, dormitories and Dhabas are also planned to be constructed in the park.
According to a report given by Comprehensive Transportation Study (CTS), the construction of the logistics parks and Inter-City Bus Terminal (ICBT) under PPP mode was taken up in the areas Miyapur, PeddaAmberpet, Shamshabad, Patancheru and Manoharabad. The HMDA has invited proposals (RFP) from consultants to take up the projects, andDeloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP was selected as transaction consultant. It will submit a report on rules and regulations in selection of agencies within four months. Deloitte already started its work, The HMDA commissioner said in a statement.
Mangalampally Logistics Park
The Logistics Park with an investment of Rs 20 crore will be built in 22 acres near Outer Ring Road (ORR) at Bengaluru Junction, about 500 meter away from Nagarjuna Sagar Highway. A parking facility for about 250 trucks will be constructed. A warehouse will be built in one-lakh sqft.A cold storage with 5,000 metric tonne capacity will be constructed.Automobile service centres, restaurants, dormitories and Dhabasare planned to be constructed in 5,000 sqft area.
