Poor facilities at bus station irk passengers

Zaheerabad: The RTC bus station in the town has become an unbearable place to thousands of commuters who visit every day. The filthy and stinking surroundings make the place unhealthy to the passengers. Emanating bad odour, the most important place has become a scourge for the needy. The bus station is located on the national highway 65. It is usually busy with people from Mumbai, Shirdi and Karnataka. Every day thousands of passengers travel to their destinations via Zaheerabad. Though the bus stand has been generating good income to the corporation, the basic facilities, such as toilets and drinking water are far from the reach.

The commuters who visit the bus station regularly said that officials neglect is the main cause for the situation. Toilets are not being maintained properly for the last one week. Children, students and passengers have been troubled with stinking toilets. The concerned staff neglected them by not cleaning them periodically. Passengers expressed their anger against the officials and demanded proper maintenance and the cleanliness in the premises of bus station.
