Corporator Kanduri Narender Acharya inaugurates Kanti Velugu centre

Balanagar: Balanagar corporator Kanduri Narender Acharya inaugurated Kanti Velugu centre, a government-sponsored free eye check-up centre, at the local municipal ward office in Ferozguda on Wednesday. A free-eye checkup center was earlier established at Balanagar division office (near E-Seva centre) and nearly 20,000 people utilised the services of the centre but it was shifted to the new location in Ferozguda.

Acharya appealed to people to utilise the services at new centre at Ferozguda. The people who have eye problems, senior citizens and others can get free eye check-up and glasses, he said. If necessary, surgeries too would be performed at free of cost at government hospitals, he added.  Among those who participated in the programme were Medical Officer (MO) of the center Dr Shailaja, supervisor Vijayamma, supervisor for glasses Yamini Shivani, other staff of the centre, local residents and others.
