Leave no scope for mistakes: Poll observer

Wanaparthy: Stressing that there should not be any scope for mistakes in the conduct of poll in the district, Observer for Assembly elections VB Patil, directed the district administration and electoral officials to take all necessary steps for the smooth conduct of elections.  

Patil visited a photo exhibition organised by district public relation officer in the district collectorate. On the occasion he enquired officia about the voter registration process and various programmes to spread voter awareness in the district. He also sought information regarding the voting percentage and various other issues pertaining to elections in the district. 

During a review meeting with district officials,  Patil sought information about the preparedness of the officials about the upcoming elections and most importantly enquired about the checking of Electronic Voting Machines, VVPATs and sought information on the randomisation, submission of nominations and withdrawals and learned about various contesting candidates from Wanaparthy district for the upcoming elections. 

Later, he visited the model EVM centre set up in the district collectorate and took part in the mock polling. The officials informed the Observer that so far more than 1,600 people have visited the mock polling centre and learned about the voting process using the EVMs and VVPAT system. Later the official visited the Agricultural Market godown in Chityala village and inspected the election vote counting centre and directed the officials to take all measures to ensure a smooth counting process.
