Police seize 15 lakh during vehicle checking

Nagarjuna Sagar / Kodad: Implementing the model code of conduct in view of upcoming Assembly elections in the State, the police have been checking all the vehicles thoroughly at checkposts set up in the district to prevent illegal transportation of liquor and money.

On Sunday late night, the police under the supervision of SI Seenaiah seized  unaccounted money Rs 7 lakh from one Maruthi 800 bearing number AP 21 F 2952, which was heading towards Hyderabad from Khambam of Prakasham district in Andhra Pradesh. SI informed that, the seized money will be returned if the person carrying money produces evidences and receipts.

Meanwhile, Kodad police seized Rs 8 lakh from a car bearing number AP 16 FD 1116 during the vehicle  checking at the State border Ramapuram crossroads of Kodad mandal in Suryapet district on Monday.  It was informed that the seized money belongs to the trader Kollu Vijaya Vara Prasad of Suryarao Pet in Vijayawada of AP.
