MBT points out 15k bogus voters to RO
A delegation, led by Majeedullah Khan, the president of MBT, alleges that GHMC officials had failed in their work and many of them were secretly helping the political forces behind the “bogus vote enrolment mafia”
Yakutpura: A delegation of Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) leaders met Shruti Ojha, returning officer for Yakutpura Constituency, and submitted a detailed report with statistical data of more than 15,000 non-existing, multiple, fake and bogus voters in electoral roll.
They provided micro details of Electoral Photo ID Card (EPIC) numbers, polling station numbers and door numbers.
A delegation, led by Majeedullah Khan, the president of MBT, alleged that the GHMC officials had failed in their work and that many of the officials were secretly helping the political forces behind the “bogus vote enrolment mafia”.
They demanded a thorough enquiry to identify the miscreant GHMC officials and to punish them for the acts of omission and dereliction of their duties.
MBT leaders said that this was just the tip of iceberg and that there are more than 50 per cent of the voters enrolled in electoral rolls by GHMC are fictitious and bogus.
They demanded a police enquiry by high-ranking officers to unearth the ‘Bogus Votes Enrolment Scam’ in Yakutpura, Charminar, Chandrayangutta, Nampally, Malakpet, Karwan, and Bahadurpura assembly segments.
The delegation also raised the ‘Online Bogus Voter Enrolment’ issue, where a particular party is collecting copies of Aadhar Cards from one constituency and submitting them online for voter enrolment, along with electricity bills as resident proofs from another constituency.
On the issue, MBT demanded a through enquiry, and emphasised that if residential addresses on Aadhar cards do not match with the addresses on electricity bills, the authorities should reject the applications.
