Students celebrate Bathukamma

Barkathpura: Students of GVR Karate Academy and their parents celebrated the ‘Bathukamma’ festival on a grand scale. 

Children joined in singing and dancing during the colourful festivities. 

Addressing the participants, TRS leader Devi Reddy stated that it was a matter of pleasure that the festival was being celebrated by all parties without resorting to politics. 

He said ‘Bathukamma’ had won international recognition after the TRS government declared it as a State festival. 

Reddy pointed out that the traditional ‘Saddula Bathukamma’ celebrations for nine days enthused people. 

Among those present were Lions Club Lios president Vijayalakshmi, academy chairman Dr G S Gopal Reddy, Dr Harathi.
