CPI demands passbooks for poor farmers
Mahbubnagar: CPI leaders of Mahabubnagar in a representation to the District Collector on Thursday demanded the government to immediately issue the land passbooks to the farmers of various villages under Rajapur mandal.
While talking on the occasion Paramesh Goud, CPI district secretary said, “While the KCR government is claiming tall over the land purification drive and issue of new land passbooks as part of ‘Samagra Bhu Prakshalana’ drive recently, there are hundreds of farmers who have been deprived of their land passbooks till date.”
The villagers and farmers of Gundla Potlapally, Agrahaaram Potlapally and Mallepally villages under Rajapur mandals have been deprived of their passbooks by the concerned Revenue department officials.
Pouring out their problems with the CPI leaders, the farmers of these villages urged the CPI to help them get their passbooks from the government.
The CPI leaders later represented to the District Collector and district revenue officer and demanded why has been so much delay in issuing of the passbooks of these poor farmers. To this the DRO Venkateshwarlu said that the process of issuing passbooks is still going on and very soon all the farmers will get their passbooks.
However, the CPI leader Paramesh Goud said while the Revenue officials are fast clearing the passbooks and Rythu Bandhu cheques and Rythu Bheema bonds to rich people and people living in foreign countries, the authorities have been harassing the poor farmers by not giving their passbooks and depriving them of government schemes. He said the KCR government is only serving the rich and ignoring the poor.
