Declare health emergency in district: MLC Ponguleti

Khammam: Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on Thursday demanded the government to declare health emergency in the district and provide immediate emergency healthcare to the people as a large number of them are suffering with several diseases.

The MLC along with other Congress leaders visited the government and various private hospitals in the district and interacted with patients  are undergoing treatment for viral fever and other seasonal diseases.

Speaking on the occasion Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy said many people across the district are suffering with dengue, chikungunya, typhoid and viral fever. Due to lack of proper medical facilities in the government hospital, many people are getting admitted in the private hospitals and spending a lot of money on treatment, he added.

The district administration must take necessary measures to prevent the spread of seasonal diseases and provide better medical facilities to the patients who visit the government hospitals, he demanded.

The government must declare health emergency in the district and conduct medical camps immediately in areas where large number of people are affected with the seasonal disease and viral fever, he added.

Later, Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy met the District Medical and Health Officer and Commissioner of Health department and requested them to take necessary steps immediately to save the lives of people suffering with various kinds of diseases.

TPCC secretary Katla Ranga Rao, Md. Fazal, Deepak Naik, M Ramana Reddy, B Mangi Lal, K Nagaraju, Gopi Naik, Prakash Naik, Kiran Lal, Narasimha Rao, T Sathyam and Vinod Kumar also accompanied him.
