Laxman seeks votes for BJP to usher in change

Hyderabad: State BJP President K Laxman appealed to the people of Telangana to vote for the BJP party in the ensuing Assembly elections to bring a change and to give a fillip to the Anthyodaya of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya to ensure benefits of the government schemes reach poorest of the poor of the State.

Addressing at a meeting organised marking the occasion of the 102 birth anniversary of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya here on Monday, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government at the Centre has been working for the Anthyodaya idea for the last four years, which stresses on extending the fruits of independence, development, and welfare to the poorest of the poor in the society.

A series of schemes for the poor, weaker and downtrodden sections, women, farmers, youth launched by the Centre are benefiting to about 35 crore people in the country, he said. 

However, setting aside their ideological differences some parties are forming into alliances with a sole motive of winning elections. “They elect from one party but share power joining another party letting down the democracy. It was to fight against this kind of opportunist politics that Deen Dayal Upadhyaya had founded Jana Sangh, to promote value-based politics in the country,” he said.

Criticising the ruling TRS government for not being part of the Ayushman Bharat Scheme (ABS), he said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao talks about Arogya Shree, but, private hospitals are no admitting patients under the same scheme.

Yet, the State refusing to take part in the ABS. This shows the State government’s commitment of extending health care to the poor in Telangana, he said. Similarly, farmers and poor in the State have been deprived of benefits of housing and crop insurance under the Central schemes of Pradhana Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) and Pradhana Mantri Fasal Bhima Yojana (PMFBY), he said.

The former BJP MLA cautioned Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) president Prof Kodanda Ram joining hands with an alliance of opportunistic political parties like Congress, TDP staking its Telangana agenda in the eyes of people. 

Former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya said the integral humanism with the patriotic nationalism of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Vis a Vis the communism and capitalism alone will help in the welfare and development of the people. Former BJLP leader G Kishan Reddy, MLAs, MLC and other senior leader participated in the event paying tributes to Deen Dayal Upadhyaya.
