Vaktha participants elated over training

Hyderabad: The participants of Vaktha, a two-day training session in public speaking, described their experience as a ‘turning point’ in their lives. They found the different facets of oratory skills and tips provided by experts as significant for grooming themselves to face huge audience.

The training programme, jointly organised by HMTV and Kaushalya School of Life Skills on Saturday and Sunday inspired scores of aspiring politicians, social workers and businessmen. Some of participants of 67th batch described this as a complete transformation in their attitude and body language within two-days of training and asserted to maintain poise like an ‘orator.’   

The Director (Training), Kapil Group and the lead faculty of the programme D Bal Reddy said the public speaking is a skill, which can only be honed by regular practice. He gave important tips and techniques relating to public speaking. 

S Anand Parjanya, faculty on body language, trained the participants on maintaining their posture while delivering a speech at a public place.K Srikanth, another faculty, explained important techniques of voice modulation, since a good speaker maintains a high tone while delivering the speech.  

While providing their feedback, K Lakshmana Chowdary, a techie, who earlier used to lay emphasis on content rather than focusing on body language described the training as a good learning experience. He vowed to regularly practise the tips to overcome his confusion and hoped to convey the matter with more efficiency. 

Dr Ch Raghavender Rao, from Jagtial, described the training programme as worthwhile experience, as unlike other commercial training sessions, the two-day training emphasised on societal values which would help for a better society.    

M Ramulu, an aspiring politician and basti leader, felt that through this training he achieved what was not possible earlier. Earlier, while addressing the gathering, he said he was facing stage fear, and he now overcame it. 

G Mahesh, a student leader, who felt contented with the training said he had overcome his inhibitions and learnt the techniques to engage the audience through body language, face expressions and voice.
