100 schools to get smart class tech

Warangal: Efforts are on to introduce Smart Class technology in 100 schools across Warangal Urban district from October, District Collector Amrapali Kata said here on Thursday.

In a review meeting that focused on amenities in State-run schools, she directed the officials to make sure all the equipment - computers, broadband internet connection, projectors and related equipment for high-tech classrooms - ready for introducing Smart Class technology ahead of its launch.  

“Smart Classes, which are designed to bring latest technology to classrooms, will enrich and enhance the skills of the students,” she said, instructing the officials to identify 100 schools for the programme. This apart, teachers will be given a training to conduct smart classes, she added.  
No more students should be forced to sit on the floor, Amrapali told the officials to take necessary measures. The administration has sanctioned Rs 37.50 lakh to ensure toilets in schools that lack the amenity. To improve the aesthetics, schools should be coloured so that students develop zeal towards their academics, she said. 

The meeting also focused on restoration of power supply, construction of compound walls, kitchen and other basic amenities. The Collector also stressed the importance of growing trees and gardens in all schools. District education officer K Narayan Reddy and district rural development officer T Ramu were among others present.
