Mahbubnagar: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi Vidyarthi (TRSV) student organisation affiliated to the TRS party vehemently opposed to All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Rahul Gandhi’s proposed tour of Osmania University.

While addressing a press meet in Mahbubnagar on Thursday, TRSV State leader Sudeep Reddy gave a call to all the students to oppose Rahul Gandhi’s tour to Telangana and in particular to Osmania University as it will infuriate differences and create rift amongst students living peacefully in the university.

The Congress party is playing double standards, on one hand they are creating hurdles in the way of construction of major irrigation projects like Palamuru Ranga Reddy Lift irrigation by putting litigations in the courts and now they are planning to tour sensitive areas like Osmania University only to create rift and disturb the peaceful environment in the State, he added.

“People are aware of the nefarious designs of the Congress, right from the beginning it was the Congress which delayed the formation of Telangana and even after formation of the new State now they want to create hurdles in the way of development.

Therefore, we will oppose the Congress president’s move to visit Osmania University and demand that the Congress party leaders first withdraw the court cases against the development projects before touring Telangana,” said Sudeep Reddy.

Reddy said that the Congress had belittled the supreme scarifies of those who laid their lives for the formation of Telangana by claiming that if Congress had not given Telangana the new state would never have come into picture, he said.

“It is because of the fight of the students, employees, various organisations and because of mass movement by the people of Telangana we could achieve the new State and the Congress is now trying to create rift between the groups of students’ organisations and wants to get political mileage,” Sudeep Reddy added.
