Rotary’s annual golf fundraising tourney a big hit
Hyderabad: Rotary Club of Hyderabad Deccan, a primary unit of District 3150 of Rotary International, organised its Annual Golf Fundraising Tournament here in the city at Hyderabad Golf Club, Seven Tombs, Golconda, on Sunday morning 6am onwards.
According to Rotarian Uday Pilani, president of Rotary Club of Hyderabad Deccan, the tournament which was an annual event organised to raise funds to set up the state-of-the-art “10 Colour Flow Cytometer and Blood Culture equipment” which costs around Rs 1 crore.
It is useful for paediatric blood cancer patients and will result in better treatment thereby reducing mortality. It is expected to save the lives of 400 children from the lower income group per annum. It will be set up at Indo American Cancer Hospital and help children from the MNJ Hospital.
Over 100 seasoned golfers participated in this Golf Fund Raising Tournament. The club has been successful in raising over Rs 60 lakh as donations and will get further support from Rotary partners for the balance.
The tournament kicked off at 6 am in the morning and concluded by afternoon.
Shashidhar Reddy and Sanjay Kamtam were declared as winners.
First Runner Ups were Sanjeev Dhawan, Hemanth Jalan and Second Runner Ups were Omprakash Modi and R Siva Kumar.
The prizes were given away by Rotarians Murali, Kamal Goyal, Sailesh, Vandit and Prashanth, Uday Pilani, president of Rotary Club of Hyderabad Deccan and Vikram Dev Rao, president of Hyderabad Golf Club and Srikanth Rao, Honorary Secretary of Hyderabad Golf Club.
