Double for Loyola boys

​Hyderabad:  Host Loyola Academy Degree and PG College not proved to be the superior side but also managed to pip the field while winning the two championships that were up for grabs in the Osmania University Inter-college Football and Basketball Tournament for Men 2018-19 at their premises in Alwal.

The football final was a close encounter with players from Bhavan’s Sainikpuri not willing to budge an inch before Loyola edged them out with a 5-4 verdict. AV College and Anwar-Ul-Uloom clashed for the third place in similar fashion with the former trumping 5-4.

The basketball final was a lopsided affair with Loyola registering an emphatic 69-30 win over CBIT. Bhavan’s Sainikpuri cruised past Aurora DC 55-32 to grab the third place.

Later, Loyola Academy Principal, Rev Father P Anthony presented the shields in presence of Prof K Deepla and Organising Secretary Ch Sandeep Reddy.
