Mallikarjun Kharge takes a direct swing at Modi by calling him “an expert in saying lies”
BAGALKOT: On Sunday former chief minister Siddaramaiah said that “If I had not joined the Congress party, I would not have become chief minister. I became the CM with the blessings of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.”
While addressing the public at the canvassing for Jamkhandi by the elections at Savalagi village in Jamakhandi taluk, he said, “All MLAs supported me in becoming chief minister.”
Recollecting about the defeat in Chamundeshwari, he said, “rahu, ketu and shani all joined together and defeated me. But the people of Badami supported me and gave me political strength. Though I did not become chief minister, the people’s love and affection is with me”.
Mallikarjun Kharge his colleague and opposition leader in the Parliament took a direct swing on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, by saying, “He is an expert in saying lies. Though he lies, it sounds so impressive that it seems like the truth.”
He said that before the parliamentary elections of 2014, Modi had promised employment to 2 crore youths every year, and also assured the people that he would bring back all the black money that has been stashed away in foreign countries, but none of these promises have been fulfilled. He said that he feels sorry for the youth, who were cheated by Modi, though they put their faith in him.
MLA Lakshmi Hebbalkar, in the town of Mudhol Bagalkot district, told the reporters, “I am not a woman who bends due to the pressure of any influential man. I work as per my conscience.
Even before the rift between the Jarkiholi brothers, I wanted to give up my post as women’s wing president. In fact, as soon as I was elected MLA, I wrote to the KPCC president, asking to be relieved of the charge. There is no question of being sacked.”
