Gudur, Jeevan Reddy files nomination for MLC polls
Hyderabad: TPCC Treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy on Thursday filed nomination papers for the MLC seat to be elected by MLAs.
Accompanied with Congress Legislature Party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and other leaders, Gudur filed the nomination papers before Telangana Legislature Secretary. Congress party is having 19 MLAs while the TDP, which was its ally in last Assembly elections, have two legislators. Therefore, the Congress party is confidence of winning the seat. However, the ruling TRS is contesting from all five seats to make things difficult for Congress. While TRS is contesting on four seats, it left on seat for its ally MIM. Therefore, the TRS is now banking on defection by a few Congress MLAs to win the fifth seat.
The polling for MLC elections will be held on March 12 and the results will also be announced on the same day.
Meanwhile, former minister T. Jeevan Reddy today filed his nomination papers from Karimnagar-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Medak Graduates’ MLC constituency. Accompanied with senior leaders, Jeevan Reddy submitted his papers to Karimnagar district Collector-cum-Returning Officer Sarfaraz Ahmed.
