BENGALURU: The state government has asked the Centre to put off the Polio National Immunisation Day (NID) which is currently being scheduled for the 3 of February.

The directive has been issued through a communication which is dated to be on the 18th of January from the Union health and family welfare ministry to the principal secretary of the state health and family welfare department.

All states, except for the state of Kerala, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, have been sent the communication. It has expressed unavoidable circumstances.

A report of an agency has said that the delay had resulted in more rigid testing of the vaccination which will be dispatched to the states for public use from the National Testing Laboratory after clearance.
