GHMC asked to prepare action plan to restore heritage structures
Hyderabad: Principal Secretary Municipal Administration Arvind Kumar directed the Director Heritage Visalatchy to identify heritage structures in the GHMC area and come up with an action plan for restoration and taking up repairs.
He said that fencing of the structure, cleaning and lighting should be taken up immediately. He took stock of the various restoration works being taken up by the heritage department at secretariat today.
The meeting is a follow up of the meeting held with the Chief Secretary last month wherein the issue of setting up Heritage fund and identifying heritage structures in the state for restoration and taking up repairs was discussed. Steps will be taken to restore the heritage structures viz Deval masjid in Bodhan, Khila Ramalayam in Nizambad, Ram temple in Dichpally, Jagtiyal Fort and Jain temples in Kolanupaka to past glory.
Arvind Kumar informed that he would be personally visiting these places shortly. He also asked the GHMC officials to provide status note on all clock towers in the city, including ownership details and repairs to be taken up to restore these clocks.
