Dalai Lama arrives in Bodh Gaya
Gaya, Dec 16: Tiberan spiritual leader, Dalai Lama, Sunday arrived in Bodh Gaya where he will stay for 23 days in a Tibetan monastery.
The Dalai Lama, who reached Gaya international airport by a chartered plane, proceeded to the monastery from the airport amid tight security, Gaya District Magistrate and Bodhgaya Temple Management Committee (BTMC) chairman Abhishek Kumar Singh said.
He will visit Mahabodhi temple on Monday morning to offer prayers, Singh said. A large crowd was waiting on both sides of the road to get a glimpse of the Nobel Peace Prize winner, he added.
Earlier, on his arrival at Gaya aiport, senior officials, including Magadh divisional commissioner T Bindeshwari, Magadh range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Binay Kumar, District Magistrate Abhishek Kumar Singh, Senior SP Rajiv Mishra, BTMC secretary N Dorje and Airport director Dilip Kumar welcomed him.
