BENGALURU: On Tuesday, the operations at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) had been suspended for 14 minutes at 6.32 AM to 6.48 AM and which had caused delay in 39 departures.
“With winter setting in, environmental impediments such as fog and consequent visibility issues have an impact on aircraft movement. This often leads to flight delays and diversions,” Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) said in a release.
The radiation fog is normally experienced by the KIA, which is formed by the thermal radiation when the land cools down after sunset. Flights are generally affected between the 13th of November and 16th of February, between 3 AM to 9 AM.
