Home minister G Parameshwara says he is ready to take upon the responsibility of CM

BELAGAVI: On Saturday the home minister G Parameshwara had said that “I’m ready to take on the responsibility as chief minister if the high command so wishes.” While he was speaking to the media persons after attending the attestation parade of the 362 newly recruited men and women constables of the reserve police who had completed their nine-month training programme.

When Parameshwara was asked about the projecting minister DK Shivakumar as the next CM candidate in the Congress. He had said that he has a long experience of being a KPCC president and is fit to take upon the responsibility of any post.

Addressing the new recruits, he said that cyber crimes have become an increasing threat. In this context, the police officers are being trained about the cybercrime and a college of cybercrime prevention is being set up in Bengaluru in association with Infosys, he said. He added that for the first time in the country, cyber crime police station and cyber technology unit is being established in Bengaluru.

He said 23,000 police personnel were recruited last year and 4,000 more will be recruited this year. The plan is to recruit 20,000 police personnel in the next five years. Under the Police Gruh Yojana, government plans to allot 1.06 lakh houses to police personnel.

He praised the services that are being offered by DG & IGP Neelamani Raju by saying she is a model for the department. MLAs Anjali Nimbalkar, Shrimant Patil, KSRP ADGP Bhaskar Rao, the city police commissioner DC Rajappa, SP Sudheer Kumar Reddy were present at the occasion.
