Unnathi Counselling Programme held for inmates of Chanchalguda
The aim of the counselling is to dispel doubts of inmates of false implications in cases and imposition of Preventive Detention Act
Chanchalguda: The Jail authorities on Tuesday conducted 18th batch of ‘Unnathi Counselling Programme’ for inmates of Chanchalguda Central Prison, where 32 inmates attended.
The inmates were also provided with helpline numbers, who in case of false implication can make contact with.
The objective of the counselling was to dispel their doubts of false implication of cases and imposition of PD (Preventive Detention) Act.
As per the instructions of V K Singh, Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services (TS), the programme has been continuing for the inmates of Central Prison Hyderabad.
B Anand, ACP, Mirchowk Police Station who attended the programme clarified all the doubts and the ‘misconceptions’ of the participants in the programme and also gave his mobile number to all the participants and advised to contact in case of false implication.
He instructed all the inmates to be in touch with police before the police calls to avoid false implication of cases.
He enlightened the habits of adjustment to the circumstances and advised to inculcate good habits such as avoiding intoxication and not to roam at uneven times with persons having criminal records.
K Arjuna Rao, Superintendent of Prisons praised the efforts of Prof C Beena, organising such Unnathi programme for the benefit of prisoners and also praised Anand for taking part in this programme.
Dr D Srinivas, Deputy Superintendent of Prisons, P Saibaba, Deputy Superintendent of Prisons, A Venkatesham, Jailor, Kiran Kumar, Deputy Jailor also participated in the programme.
