World Biofuel Day observed in city

Hyderabad: World Biofuel day was celebrated in the city at Necklace Road on Tuesday. The day was marked by conducting a cycle rally and walkathon by state oil industry in Telangana as at directive of ministry of petroleum & natural gas. Cycle rally was organised at Necklace Road, which started from PV Gyan Bhoomi early in the morning. This rally was flagged off by the Commissioner of Civil Supplies Akun Sabharwal. 

Akun Sabharwal spoke about the importance of Bio Fuels and urged the participants to contribute towards protecting the environment. Officials from state run oil companies such as Hindustan Petroleum, International oil companies and Bharat Petroleum participated in the event. The day was meant to create awareness about the importance of non-fossil fuels as an alternative to conventional fossil fuels. To highlight the various efforts made by the government in the biofuel sector.
