Sanitation worker’s death condoled

Hafizpet:  Madhapur Corporator V Jagadishwar Goud paid tributes to sanitation worker, who met with a tragic death when a sceptic tanker turned turtle in phase-6 of Janapriya apartments recently, at a condolence meeting held at GHMC ward office here on Sunday. 

Later, he presented a cheque for Rs 2 lakh to the bereaved family on behalf of the GHMC. Sanitation workers contributed Rs 20,000 to meet expenses of cremation, while the corporator doled out Rs 35,000 to the family. 

He assured the family to provide Rs 7.50 lakh to the bereaved family. Of this, Rs 5 lakh is the insurance cover, Rs 1 lakh is the ESI amount, Rs 1 lakh towards PF and Rs 50,000 towards compensation under the Apadbandhu scheme. He said that he would speak to the minister KTR, mayor Bonthu Rammohan, GHMC commissioner JANARDHAN Reddy and MLA Arekapudi Gandhi. He spoke to the Gandhi hospital superintendent Sravan Kumar for an early completion of the post-mortem on the body.
