Kukatpally: Massive drainage leakage at Kukatpally main bus stop is causing inconvenience to residents and office goers. It has been four days since the drainage overflowing is emanating foul smell. This comes in few days after the issue of bumpy roads was resolved with laying cc roads. The roads were severely affected with the roads inundated with filthy waters. After giving several complaints, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials inspected the spot and said the issue would be resolved soon.
“There should be no further delay and authorities need to check the condition of existing pipelines and fix the leakage. As of now, at least four to five commuters were seen falling down and sustained injuries. In case of officials delay the work, the commuter and the residents continue to be at risk of meeting accidents,” lamented residents. They added that the work should commence as soon as possible and should be completed as per the deadline given for its completion.
Earlier, the dug up roads created havoc and once the issue was resolved then come in the pipeline leakage which was adjacent to the drinking water pipeline adding to the woes of residents. Social activist Shaik Salauddin said, “Leakage of pipe is getting mixed with the drinking water. When used for drinking purpose, age old people and children are most affected.”
