Deadly dogs' attack: 32 sheep mauled to death, 19 severely injured

Ghanapur (Toopran): In a deadly attack by the dogs on the herd in the shed at night time, as many as 32 sheep were mauled to death and 19 more suffered severe injuries. The incident took place in Ghanapur village in Toopran mandal of Medak district on the night of Wednesday. 

According the victim shepherd Gaddi Mallesh Yadav, who was looking after 60 sheep including the sheep of Gaddi Bikshapati and Gaddi Muthyalu, brought the sheep to the shed in the evening near his house after grazing the jumbucks in the fields. Before he came back to the shed after fetching milk from the nearby shed of buffalos, a pack of canines jumped into the shed and attacked on the herd which were packed with a closed gate and mauled 32 sheep to death and injured 19 more in a matter of half an hour. 

Out of the dead, 17 sheep belong to Gaddi Bikshapati, 12 of Gaddi Muthayalu and 3 sheep belonged to shepherd Mallesh including 19 injured. The killed sheep were not insured and none of them are of the government distributed sheep, said the weeping victims and they urged the government to support them as a huge loss was incurred by the dogs’ attack.
