Create awareness on EVMs, says Collector

Vikarabad: In-charge Collector Lokesh Kumar has directed the government officials to work hard for creating awareness among low-rung staff, students and police personnel on the functioning of EVMs. 

Speaking during a review meeting on upcoming Parliament elections at the collectorate on Tuesday, he said a CRC programme should be organised about the EVMs for all levels of government staff and police department including students. He told them to organise mock polling so that all can have clear idea about the process. 

“Organise mock polling with the students in villages to create awareness and keep voter slips in a sealed cover. Complete the process in all villages by March 5,” he said. He directed the officials to see that all village-level officers, VROs, Anganwadis, teachers and panchayat secretaries participate in the programme.

The Collector reviewed the arrangements made so far and the actions to be taken up in future for the upcoming elections. SP T Annapurna, Joint Collector Aruna Kumari, Assistant Collector Muzamil Khan, DRDO Johnson, RDO Vishwanatham and other officials were also present.
