CAMPUS DRIVE IN GITAM

Visakhapatnam: China consumer electronics giant China Star Optoelectronics Technology (CSOT) recruitment team started their campus drive in GITAM Deemed to be University here on Thursday. 

The parent firm, Chinese electronics major TCL Electronics Holdings has signed MOU with Andhra Pradesh State Government to set up its first integrated smart manufacturing industrial park at Tirupati with a phased investment of Rs.2,200 crore. This will be TCL’s largest manufacturing base outside China and will build localised manufacturing capabilities as part of its long- term strategy.

The CSOT recruitment team consisting of seven experts was headed by India Project HR & Admin Director Davin Qian interacted with GITAM students and briefed about his company. He said that they are focussing on manufacturing positions in optoelectronics, electronics, mechanical engineering, automation engineering, physics, chemistry, material science, industrial engineering and non-manufacturing positions in Financial management, supply chain management, HR, computer science. He further informed that they want to continue the recruitment drive in Andhra Pradesh state particularly in selected universities like GITAM, Andhra University, Sri Venkateswara University, IIT-Tirupathi.

While interacting with the CSOT recruitment team GITAM Institute of Technology Principal Prof K Lakshmiprasad advised that offering internships in companies will give an exposure to students. He promised that the university is ready to offer Chinese language to engineering students for better communication with the organisation.  GITAM Training & Placement Director Commander Gurumoorthy Gangadharan informed that the recruitment drive will continue up to  March 10.
