3 held for stealing cash from ATM

 ​Hyderabad: Keesara Police arrested three members of a criminal gang who had resorted to stealing of cash from an ATM of Karur Vysya Bank in Nagaram. They recovered Rs 40.24 lakh cash and a Baleno car and 3 cheque books from the accused.

According to Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat, on December 21, Keesara police received a complaint from one M Krishna Reddy (Assistant Manager, NCR Corporation India Pvt Limited, Begumpet) stating that his company had taken a contract  from Karur Vysya Bank to deposit cash in various ATMs of the bank. 

Later they entrusted the work of maintenance, cash replenishment on a sub contract to Writer Safeguard Private Limited (WSG). But soon they realised that an amount of Rs 47,37,700 that was supposed to be deposited by the staff of WSG from time to time was found stolen from the ATM of Karur Vysya Bank of Nagaram. 

The complainant suspected complicity of a former employee of WSG. Based on the complaint, a case was booked under sections 379,408, 420 of IPC. The police collected technical evidence like CCTV footage from the ATM of KVB, Nagaram and arrested three accused Sai Ram Kiran (26), a private employee and resident of Yapral, his girl friend Kumari Pooja (23) and his friend T Nagaraju (28). During investigation, police learnt that Sai Ram Kiran had hatched the plan with Pooja and Nagaraju.
