Me Too movement deserves a hearing, hope it happens soon says, Emraan Hashmi
Emraan Hashmi hopes that the Me Too movement gets a hearing soon and there are some actions taken.
Emraan interacted with media at a 'Why Cheat India' promotional event with co-actor Shreya Dhanwanthary on Wednesday in Mumbai
'Why Cheat India' director Soumik Sen in October 2018, was accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women. Since the revelation, he has excused himself from the film's promotions and the producers have avoided the topic.
When asked about the situation and if there are any measures taken Emraan said he would like to believe in, 'innocent till proven guilty.'. "I can't really speak about the matter until I know the details. If the allegations are true there has to be some action taken but we don't know anything just as yet. This is the thing with the movement, it is a great one but there has to be some kind of due process."
He also added, that the matter deserves and hearing and hopes it will be done soon.
"We just jump the gun and start blaming people, we understand that certain accusations have been made but there has to be some kind of investigation. Let that start off and we will find out soon. It does deserve a hearing and I hope that gets done soon. "
