I will not be contesting elections this time says Prakash Jha
Veteran Filmmaker Prakash Jha tried his hands at politics in past, when he contested in Lok Sabha elections from his native Champaran, but this time he will be contesting elections as he doesn’t want to be part of politics.
Filmmaker and producer Prakash Jha was interacting with media to promote forthcoming comic caper Fraud Saiyan, here in Mumbai.
Talking about his stint with elections in past and new elections around the corner, Prakash Jha said, “I really don’t have a connection with the world of politics, but I’d watch it, understand it and keenly observe it, I’ve indeed contested elections twice in my life, not because I wanted to get into politics but I wanted to do something for the constituency but it didn’t happen. Next elections, I am keenly observing but rest assured I will not be contesting in them”
Prakash Jha has bankrolled Fraud Saiyaan, which is directed Sourabh Shrivastava, starring Arshad Warsi, Saurabh Shukla and Sara Loren in lead roles.
Further adding filmmaker quipped that people think of him a serious political thriller director but he is always an avid fan of comic capers. He said, “When people look at me they think I am serious political thriller filmmaker but there is always comedy in our every film and this film, Fraud Saiyaan, is a wonderful comic caper. It is like that I took out politics and kept comedy in my thoughts because there is a lot of comedy happening in current politics”
Fraud Saiyaan will clash with educational drama Cheat India and as producer Praksha Jha says it’s a good thing at all cheats and frauds are coming together.
He said, “It is a good thing; all the Cheats and Frauds will have an epic Friday”
