Marc Maron set to star in stand-alone 'Joker' movie

Washington DC, [USA] : American actor and comedian Marc Maron is all set to join in an upcoming stand-alone movie based on DC Comics' villain 'Joker'.
Currently, the 'Glow' star is in talks to join Joaquin Phoenix alongside Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz and Frances Conroy in the movie, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie will focus on the origin story of Joker, an arch-rival of Batman.
Todd Phillips of 'The Hangover' fame is directing the movie. The stand-alone movie is set in early 1980s Gotham City. It is set to be darker than most DC movies.
On the work front, Maron was last seen in a Netflix series 'Easy' and his comedy special 'Marc Maron: Too Real'.
