Pakistan move to release captured IAF pilot celebrated

Tirupati: BJP activists celebrated the decision of Pakistan government to release IAF wing commander Abhinandan Varthaman, here on Thursday. 

The jubilant BJP activists gathered at the city’s busy centre Nallugukallamantapam junction immediately after Pakistan announced its decision to release Abhinandan and distributed sweets to public to share their joy on the release of Indian fighter jet pilot, who was captured on Wednesday after his jet was shot by Pakistan pilots. 

The activists also burst crackers, celebrating the Pak move to release the wing commander Abhinandan. Party district president B Chandra Reddy, state spokesperson Samanchi Srinivas and others were present.  

Earlier in the day, Congress senior leader Chinta Mohan along with party activists including city president Mallikarjun, party state secretary Pramillamma and others assembled at Amar Jawan Statue in NGOs Colony Park to pray for the early release of Abhinandan. Mohan expressed his party support to the armed forces and condemned Pakistan for supporting terrorist activities in the country.
