‘Telugu Dheera’ novel released in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: A Telugu novel ‘Telugu Dheera’ written by Dr GV Poorna Chandu was launched at the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati, here on Sunday. The novel was launched by Justice A Venkata Sesha Sai of Andhra Pradesh High Court.

The novel portrays the history of a Telugu queen Mangamma, who ruled Madhura in Tamil Nadu for 50 years. The book was dedicated to Prof Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, Member, Kendriya Hindi Samiti.

The first copy of the novel was given to Dr Mandali Buddha Prasad, Deputy Speaker.
Dr Gumma Sambashiva Rao reviewed the book and presented the historical anecdotes of the Madhura and Tanjore Nayakas in 17th and 18th centuries.

L V Subrahmanyam , Special Chief Secretary, Youth and Sports Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh and Guttikonda Subbarao, President, Krishna District Writers Association spoke on the occasion.

Dr E Sivanagi Reddy, CEO, CCVA conducted the proceedings of the book launch programme.
