Update: 2019-02-12 05:30 IST

Vijayawada: CPI state secretary K Ramakrishna asked the State government to stop the implementation of Centre’s contributory pension scheme (CPS) in the state.

Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday, he said that several lakhs of employees and teachers would lose pension as per the present pension rules.

He said that the employees have been staging protests against the contributory pension scheme (CPS) but the State government was neglecting the agitators.

He wondered as to how the State government was continuing the BJP government’s pension scheme while opposing the other policies and schemes. He condemned the arrests of agitating employees and  demanded the government to take steps to release the employees who were arrested.
