Milch cattle getting tagged with Aadhaar
Rajamahendravaram: The state government is issuing Aadhaar numbers even to milch cattle in to get their overall information and to sanction fodder as well as implementing schemes for their wellbeing. Veterinary doctors, Pasu Mitras and Gopalas are busy issuing numbers to the milch cattle.
According to an official of animal husbandry department, so far Aadhaar numbers had been issued to 1.8 lakh milch cattle in East Godavari district out of the total estimated 8.80 lakh milch cattle. Steps were being taken to complete the process as early as possible.
All the 8.80 lakh milch cattle produce 24.62 lakh litre milk per day, as against of 30 lakh litre produced a year ago in the district and the government was very particular to increase milk production.
As part of it, the government had decided to implement schemes to ensure health and more milch yield through Aadhar number and the officials are sending the issued number to the state office every day.
With this Aadhaar number, the milch cattle will get insurance facility foddergrass, various variety of other grass, cattle sheds and it is a must to each farmer to get aadhar number to his milch cattle.
The name of the milch cattle owner, its colour, weight, habits, health condition, etc., are also uploaded to retrieve their information at any time. The animal husbandry officials are telling dairy farmers to get Aadhaar number to every milch cattle.
