3-day state youth fest begins in Eluru

 Eluru: A three-day long state youth festival, organised by Youth Services Department, commenced at the indoor stadium here on Tuesday. Collector Praveen Kumar, accompanied by MP Maganti Babu and MLC Ramu Surya Rao inaugurated the event.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector asked the sports persons to strive hard and bring name and fame to their district, parents and nation. 

He wished the youth to excel in the fields of education, science and sports apart from taking part in cultural activities.

He said that as many as 712 youth across 13 districts in the state have been participating in competitions relating to 18 different categories. 

All these youth had won at district-level competitions to reach the state-level stage. They should put in their efforts to shine at national level also. 

Competitions were being held in classical dance, music, elocution, folk arts and  other categories, he added.
