Kurnool: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has presented award to Ake Ravi Krishna, the then Kurnool Superintendent of Police (SP), at Amaravati on Monday, for his tireless efforts in transforming the Kapatralla, once a faction village, into a model one.

Around 12 villages across the State have been selected as model villages including Kappatralla in Devanakondal mandal. Ravi Krishna had decided to adopt the faction village while he was undergoing IPS training. He had visited the village once and studied the prevailing
conditions.

After taking charge as Kurnool SP in 2015, Ravi Krishna had officially adopted Kappatralla. He urged the villagers to shun faction and live in harmony. The cop was instrumental in providing basic facilities like drinking water, government school and a bank in the village.

The members of the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) and fertiliser company, the Coromandel International, have extended support in village development. The Kappatralla youth are now pursuing education and settling in jobs.

Speaking to The Hans India, Ravi Krishna said that he felt very happy for receiving the award. He also thanked officials, private firms, voluntary organisations and individuals, who have come forward in transforming the village.
