Interstate cricket tourney begins

 Parchuru: The Parchuru MLA, Eluri Sambasivarao inaugurated the Interstate Cricket Tournament at Parchuru in Prakasam district on Monday.

The Parchuru Cricket Club, noted cricket club in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh is organizing tournaments since 1994. The club has been organizing the interstate tournament as part of the Sankranti festival from January 14 to January 21. 

The organizers announced that 16 teams from Hyderabad, Chennai, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Prakasam, Nellore, Krishna and other districts were participating in the tournament.

The MLA Sambasivarao announced that the winners of the tournament will receive Rs 1,11,111 as the first prize while the runners up will receive Rs 60,000 and the team in the third position will receive Rs 30,000 and the team in the fourth place will receive Rs 20,000 as cash prizes along with the shields. 

He announced that the man of the series will receive Rs 15,000, best batsman, best bowler and best alrounder will receive Rs 5000 each as the cash prizes.
