SVU signs pact with BSNL

Tirupati: Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) and BSNL inked an MoU on Monday for upgrading technology as part of improving facilities to teaching, non-teaching staff and also students. SVU has embarked on technology upgradation with an outlay of Rs 4 crore. 

The university has got funds under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA). SVU in-charge Vice-Chancellor G Janakiramaiah said that keeping in view of the BSNL excellent services to TTD for technology upgrading more so in the areas of IT and IT Enabled Services (ITES) in Tirumala for enhancing its services to pilgrims, the university decided to tie up the PSU telecom major for upgrading technology in the university. 

The technology-based facilities including bio-metric system, LCD projector to class rooms, internet service, computers and servers etc. are among the facilities to be provided by the BSNL as per the MoU, Janakiramaiah explained. 

SVU Registrar K Anuradha, RUSA Coordinator DV Prasad Rao, BSNL General Manager K Chandrasekharan, Assistant General Manager (Planning) Neelakanteswar Rao and other were present.
