Services of Visakha Steel General Hospital hailed
Visakhapatnam: The 27th Formation Day of Visakha Steel General Hospital (VSGH), a 160-bed hospital, established for the benefit of employees and dependents of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, was celebrated on Thursday.
As part of the celebrations, the doctors and paramedical staff, who exhibited exemplary dedication and service in resuscitating and reviving highly critical patients were honoured. O R Ramani, ED (works), who was the chief guest of the function, presented the Dr Koppacchi Krishnamurthy gold medal for ‘Best Medical Officer’ to Dr P Varalakshmi, AGM (Medical) for the year 2018.
Y Lakshmi Prabhakar gold medal for the Best Nurse of the year 2018 was presented to AG Vimala Kumari, junior manager (nursing). On the occasion, a talk was held on ‘Computer Vision Syndrome’ by Dr Raveendra, head of cataract and glaucoma services, Shankar Foundation Hospital, Visakhapatnam. Dr Raveendra explained the ill effects of prolonged working on computers, laptops, and mobiles, and suggested precautionary measures to save the precious vision and to maintain good health of eyes.
Dr Uma, DGM (anesthesia) briefed on the medical and health facilities provided by the department and need to maintain good health for higher production and productivity levels. Dr Gargeyi, DGM (Radiology) gave a presentation about the activities of VSGH and highlights for the year 2018.
